1. About This Policy
SolarCompute is operated by Solar Compute Limited (ABN 15 697 045 819), Australia ("SolarCompute", "we", "us"). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Questions about privacy can be sent to support@solarcompute.com.au.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the Services:
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed) and account settings, provided by you when you sign up or update your profile.
- Subscription and purchase records: plan, billing period, status, renewal and expiry dates, App Store or Google Play transaction identifiers, and an anonymous account token linking your store purchase to your SolarCompute account.
- Compute workloads and project data: jobs you submit, files, models, datasets, containers, prompts and outputs, and compute hours used.
- Host device information: for people who run the Host software, device specifications (CPU, GPU, memory, storage), operating system, availability, performance and job results.
- Technical and usage data: device type, operating system and app version, IP address, log and crash data, and feature usage, collected automatically. This website also uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to understand site usage.
- Support communications: messages and attachments you send us.
We do not collect your payment card details. We do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage your account and sign you in
- run your compute workloads, store your projects and return results
- activate, verify, renew and restore your subscription, and track compute hours against your plan
- schedule jobs on Host computers and credit Host operators for work completed
- keep the Services secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix problems
- respond to support requests and send service messages, such as billing or security notices
- understand how the Services are used so we can improve them
- meet our legal obligations
We send marketing messages only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Subscriptions bought in the mobile app are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by SolarCompute. Your payment details are handled under Apple's privacy policy or Google's privacy policy.
From Apple or Google we receive the details needed to confirm and manage your subscription: product, transaction identifiers, purchase, renewal and expiry dates, and status. We verify these with Apple or Google before activating your plan. When you tap Restore Purchases, we check your existing App Store purchases and re-link them to your SolarCompute account.
You manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account or Google Play settings. Subscriptions bought through the App Store are also subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (Terms of Use).
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Host computers. SolarCompute is a distributed network, so your workloads and the data they need may run on computers operated by Host participants. Hosts receive only what a job needs to run, workloads run in isolated containers, and Hosts are not given your account details.
- Service providers. Companies that host our servers and storage, send email, and provide crash reporting and analytics, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Apple and Google. To verify and manage in-app purchases.
- Legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of users, SolarCompute or others.
- Business transfers. If SolarCompute is merged or sold, personal information may transfer to the new owner, who must follow this policy.
- With your consent. In any other case, only when you agree.
6. Storage, Security and Retention
Your information is stored on servers in Australia. Host computers and some service providers may be located outside Australia, including in other countries where Hosts operate. When information leaves Australia, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to the standard of the Australian Privacy Principles.
We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, isolated workload containers and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep information only as long as we need it:
- account and project data: while your account is open, and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account
- purchase and billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally 5 to 7 years)
- logs and diagnostics: up to 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security issue
7. Your Rights and Choices
You can:
- access the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong or out of date
- download your project data
- opt out of marketing emails
- delete your account and associated data
Deleting your account. You can delete your account in the app's account settings, or by emailing support@solarcompute.com.au. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel it in your store settings first.
To make any other request, email support@solarcompute.com.au. We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first. If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you also have rights under the GDPR, including to object to or restrict processing.
8. Children
The Services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
